Good article. Tho Christianity arrived in Africa during the 1st and 2nd century. What is often misinterpreted as African not knowing anything abt Christianity, which is not true. American Christianity which is intertwined with this white supremacist society is what has hurt Black folk. But, we cannot just simply state as a general truth that it’s Christianity vs African religion. That’s too broad and misleading. We must remember that the civil rights movement was started in the black church. Church has always been the backbone of our ppl. Pls research who the early church fathers were that were black: I won’t spoil it for you so u can discover the joy of discovery. Research is a healing art but we must always remember to pick apart generalizations. You’re a gifted essayist and doing that is lazy work. Always be a student. Right on and much peace, my brother. Forgive me, but I grew up in the 70s n 80s and yes, it was ALL that that you’ve heard! Much love Sherna

Some of our older’s have been manipulated by history. It was Dr Amos Wilson who proffered To manipulate history is to manipulate consciousness, to manipulate consciousness is to manipulate possibilities, and to manipulate possibilities is to manipulate power. To have a clear understanding of the origins of Christianity and the difference between ancient Alkebulan monotheistic practices is important for understanding when it is appropriate to correct and or teach. I am 99.9% sure no one on what is now Africa before 1 century A.D., was calling themselves Christian or subscribe to a holy trinity that included a ghost and no woman. That .01% well it is simply the gap. However, as a novice historian it may be important to note that the 1917 Army Spy Network created by Joel Elias Springarn the same character who pushed WEB Dubious out of the NAACP; imagine getting forced out of organization for coloreds by a non colored; but I digress, was started by finding 12 black pastors who were willing to bring information back to Army intelligence on congregation members who were rebellious. That Army Spy Intelligence was the progenitor of the FBI and was used to shift the human rights movement to a civil rights movement which would go on to make white women the largest benefactor of this legislation. Continue your observations Bobbie you are spot on!!!! Don’t let the manipulated consciousness of some of our older’s become the standard.
